To be the best at Bubble Soccer
Want to be the best?
Read more on how to improve your fundamental skills, with tips given by Archer’s Arena! Safety is our Number 1 priority here, and we’re starting with “COVID Precautions“ and “How to Play Safe”.
COVID Precautions
Each player is inside their own bubble… but we know what you are thinking now. How clean are those bubbles? Ever since we opened, we have always put cleanliness above all else, and this has been especially important since the pandemic. We use iso-propyl alcohol to wash our bubble suits, then sterilize and deodorize them from the inside with a special UVC light after every session so there are no germs inside.
Please wear your mask at all times except for during gameplay! Hand sanitizer is provided throughout the building, and we require vaccination proof of 2nd shot + 2 weeks as per Ontario government COVID guidelines.
How to Play Safe
Learn how to fall! When playing Bubble Soccer, falling over is a part of the game. The most important thing to remember is that the bubble will protect you from injuries. When you first start playing, it might feel weird and different but after a while, it should start feeling good and fun!
The number 1 way to get hurt is trying to resist the impact when you’re hit. So don’t! Don’t resist the motion. Tuck your knees into the ball so you’re not fighting against the movement and go with the flow.
Next are our fundamental tips and tricks!
Getting up is not easy. Since you can't use your hands, it will take some time to do it well, the way to get up faster is to always maneuver to your front so your head is facing the ground. Tuck your knees in, move the bubble suit closer to your body, and essentially, squat up.
The most important thing for this skill is that you need to be faster than your opponents when in the game. If not, then being slow will cost you the game. So always have a person on your team who backs the player attacking the ball.
Knocking into people
When you are on offense, try to stay low. If you are high up, the other team might knock you down. The whole point of knocking into them is to make them bounce off the game and continue your own game by scoring through the goal.
There is no doubt that Bubble Soccer is aggressive. Don’t put all of your energy into knocking, you shouldn’t be too rough or go overboard because then you’ll be kicked out. By following these tips and tricks you can definitely enjoy Bubble Soccer more than before.
Position Strategically
Unlike other sports, there are no positions in Bubble Soccer. When your team is playing, make sure that you get the positions on the ground so someone can protect the goal, and divide your team up people evenly to make it easier for them to defend and attack.
You need to have someone in your team's goal when the other team has the ball. You can decide on other positions for players but you should put out players with more stamina in front of your goal. Just make sure to talk to your team members before you land on the ground, strategize the game, and win!
